Be well. Work better. Repeat.

Ideas on balancing entrepreneurial drive with wellness, bringing to life new ideas, while living well, ourselves, and making space for what matters in a well-balanced life.

Hi,
Whose permission do you need?
To be you?
To belong?
To be accepted into this group or that one?
To affiliate yourself this way or that way?
To feel happy?
To feel sad?
To feel free?
To feel loved?
Do you need internal permission, external permission or both?
Just Rolling with It started to teach me the importance of internal permission. It’s also taught me the danger of seeking external permission holds.
I feel grateful to experience the power of granting myself internal permission holds. Doing this removes the perceived power others may feel external permission gives them over me.
How about you? Whose permission do you need and why?
Let me know by replying directly to this email.
Catch you next week,
Chris
Semi-Random Thoughts
RIP Instagram, at least for me. It’s the second social media account I’ve stopped using this year. Facebook was the first. I haven’t given up on social media completely. For example, I’m active on Twitter.
At the same time, I’m aware of the potential social media holds to become an unhealthy distraction. So, on one side, I try and stay engaged with the idea of social media from perspectives of openness and connection. On the other, I’m conscious of it hitting the tipping point and becoming an unhealthy distraction. Instagram started as the former and became the latter. I feel lighter having deleted it from my phone.
